Color Collage Poem - Balanced

Lavender leaves float across a chilly night breeze,
A pale pastel sky spills from the sun,
paints mixing together,
cream, pink,
one by one.

From hills to seas,
Nothing compares to the cool, comforting night-sky peace.
A balance one finds when in a home
Baking treats
But even sweets alone are not enough
To ease the aching heart
of a heartbroken dove

Helping you drizzle the shades of frosting, or
crack open paper-colored eggs,
Love and hope can be found in the midst of missing
If one only remembers to look out the window at the shining sun,
past the pale white curtains,
sweet, sweet one
They may be gone, but their love for you, your happiness, isn't done.

  1. I really like the "But even sweets alone are not enough, To ease the aching heart of a heartbroken dove". It's such a captivating line.
