Writers Dreaming

3. I believe it depends on said things, how much it is talked about and so on. I believe when it comes to dramatic situations at school or involving other people, talking about the problem definitely gives that negativity some power in your life. If it is going through trauma, or grief, that is the situation, I believe talking about about that with a friend or loved one is good. You're releasing negative energy and taking in positive energy by being around those who care about you, telling them how you are handling things. But I believe thinking too much about that will give it power, power to lower your spirits, and control your life when you should be in charge.

8. "There's a world of difference between truth and fact."- Maya Angelou. Fact is knowledge, the basis or building blocks upon things that we lean upon for other opinions, and knowledge. Truth can be hard to differentiate from fact some times. I'm not quite sure I totally click with this quote; I can see how she might be referring to the truth in metaphorical terms but it doesn't erase how I think of the word 'fact'. To me, facts are true. So how could they be a world away from each other? There are some common truths that cannot be supported by facts, but facts are commonly interconnected with truth. Even false ones.

9. When I am trying to write, and I'm trying to get focused, I often try reading, watching the news (from my favorite news source), or listen to composers like Ludovico Einaudi. Or, I try researching and consuming the culture or world my work is set in. When I'm ready to write, I don't usually need something to focus my small mind before writing. When I'm ready to write, I am writing and no one can stop my flow. It's when I get extreme writer's block that I start doing things to help me write.

10. "Easy reading is damned hard writing." - Nathaniel West. I can't agree more. Although I am a writer at heart, it still takes a lot of energy out of me. I might have been born with a creative heart passionate about writing, that doesn't change the fact that creation and writing requires energy from your writing spirit and brain. It's not a daily struggle for me to put pen to paper at all, but after a long day of hard work, of course I'm tired from using my metaphorical writer's muscles.

I'd love to be a professional writer someday. Writing is my passion, my craft, my art, my dreams. Writing to me, is freedom. Freedom in the best form. When I was trying to think of a career a few years ago, the only logical reason I kept telling myself I couldn't be a writer was because I thought of it as too dull. Now, I have realized there is nothing more exciting to me than creating something from my heart, with words and style, and seeing it thrill others as well. The world is full of magic, and I find magic full in many things. The deep affect a storyteller can have on so many people is one.
