Narrative - Shades of Purple

Lightning flashed across the darkening skies,
it's color was a reflection of the deep amethyst glass,
but so much darker
so much stronger.

The daughter of flowers and frost fell into the sea,
Her dress a calm plum purple,
A palette of violet twilight around her

Such as the shade that fell in a vibrant bird's feathers
A vivid bird but with a quiet color.
A purple peacock in the pouring rain

Dark lavender filled her vision,
Her sight consumed by purple chains,
The color of a mirrored plum

  1. I love the line "but so much darker, so much stronger". I never would have associated lightning filled skies with purple so this was an interesting take.
